Zelmira Alexandra Echeverría was originally from Quito where she received a Bachelors Degree in humanities from Ciencias Sociales, Colegio Theodore W. Anderson. She then pursued a career in Broadcasting, radio and TV as a producer and commentator for three national broadcast stations in Quito. Her latest position was as a commentator and interviewer on Viajando por ahi en Radio Salinas.

 

During her career Zelmira frequently found herself using her bilingual and communication skills to train friends and coworkers in English and Spanish. After moving to Salinas, where there is a large American and Foreign population, the demands on her time made it evident that setting up formal Spanish lessons was inevitable. That is how 'Spanish...the easy way" was conceived.

 

Having reasearched and experimented with a number of methods to teach Spanish over the years, Zelmira adopted what in her experience is the most effective  It is a conversationally based method founded in part on a scientifically backed formula called the "chunking" process or Miller's Law by Dr. George A. Miller. Miller's Law is based on the fact that the number of objects an average human can hold in working memory is 7 ± 2. So, simply described, it is the breaking down of big difficult content into small easy parts or "chunks".
